“Oak House Trust provides a home and lifelong security for our residents.”
Situated in the beautiful forest village of Newland, Oak House is a residential home for males with learning difficulties and is registered to provide accommodation for up to 16 adults. Currently there are 12 male residents.

A family oriented environment is at the centre of Oak House with the emphasis on the “Good Life”.  The home has extensive grounds with grassed areas, vegetable plots and outbuildings and residents are actively involved in the upkeep of the gardens and with livestock including ducks and geese. These activities ensure we have our own fresh produce a ready supply of eggs. In addition to this our residents also make birdhouses and other similar items in the workshops.
The house is a period residence set amid beautiful surroundings in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. It has been sympathetically extended and refurbished to the highest standards to provide a comfortable and modern environment suited to our residents.
Residents are encouraged to lead an active life and left feeling that they are making positive and valuable contribution to life at the Trust through their participation in the many activities available to them.
The home is staffed at all times with domestic and care staff.  Three self contained flats are available within the house for staff use and the manager and his family provide the majority of the care.
Oak House Trust Ltd is a registered charity controlled by a voluntary Board of Governors.
